Peach Valley Cafe is a small chain of Central Florida restaurants (6 locations). This one is located Heathrow, in a strip mall just off Interstate 4 (exit 98).
This is a great place for breakfast or lunch. The breakfast menu is substantial, with something for just about everyone. They offer traditional breakfasts like French toast, waffles and pancakes to omelets, steak and eggs and biscuits and gravy. Lunches include wraps, burgers, tacos, soups and sandwiches.
It’s a popular place for the locals and it can get busy at times, so expect to wait for a table. The service is great and the staff is friendly.
The food is good… a bit overpriced, but worth it. You won’t leave disappointed. We usually stop here for breakfast, but have had lunch here a few times also. The Belgian Waffles and Stuffed French Toast are our favorites. Try the Philly Steak & Egg Croissant Benedict if you get a chance. For lunch, their Corned Beef Reuben and Philly Cheese Steak are usually what we order. I’m getting hungry just writing this.
Hours are limited… they are open mornings at 7:00am and close mid-afternoons (about 3:00pm).
My wife and tried Genuine Bistro and Lounge the other night and enjoyed it. It was a beautiful evening so we decided to sit on the patio which is out front near the highway. It was a little noisy but the place was packed so traffic noise was not an issue.
The atmosphere was fun and our dinners were excellent. Our server was was great, she was attentive and quick. I had the Broiled Monk Fish and my wife has the Shrimp and Grits. Both dinners were delicious and reasonably priced. If we are ever in the area we will be sure to stop here again.
One word of caution… they have live music on the patio so if you’re looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, sit inside.
Genuine Bistro and Lounge – DeBary, Florida (I-4, exit 104)
Don’t let the location or appearance fool you, it’s a small old-fashioned snack bar. Outdoor seating, covered with umbrellas, and a walk-up window. The staff is friendly, ordering was a quick and they brought our food right to our table.
The food was excellent. I had a wonderful Cuban sandwich and my wife had an awesome burger.
Prices were very reasonable. I’ll be back!
Danny’s All American Diner – Tampa, Florida (I-4, exit 9 to I-75 exit 260)
We were a little hesitant when we pulled into the restaurant parking lot. Gene’s Steak House didn’t look like much on the outside. But we were pleasantly surprised with what we found on the inside.
This was a great little steak house. It’s a little off the beaten path but it is well worth it. The steaks were huge and cooked to perfection and melt in your mouth delicious. Service was a little slow but it was quite busy when we were there. This is one of the best meals we have eaten while on the road.
Gene’s is a local, family owned and operated restaurant in business since 1948 and they know exactly what they’re doing! We’ll be back
We live up in the Northeast where Popeye’s are few and far between… so when we’re down south Popeye’s is a must stop. There are Popeye’s all along Interstate 4 and we’ve probably stopped at most of them in our twenty plus years traveling between New England and Florida.
Great spicy chicken and sides. I love the dirty rice. This is my favorite fast food by far! What’s more, if you go online to their website (www.popeyes.com) you will probably find a coupon or two.
Every time we stop here we are amazed! We love just about everything on the menu. The people are great and the food is absolutely delicious… and the portions are generous, Even the “small” sandwiches are large. The corn meal fish here is the best I have ever tasted. The chicken livers are excellent too.
It’s a small take-out restaurant with no indoor seating, but they have a nice shaded picnic area with tables next to it. It’s less than a mile south of I-4, exit 31 on Kathleen Road.
Country Chicken and Fish – Lakeland, Florida (I-4, Exit 31)
Great subs and salads. Hoagie Heaven is a little tough to find… Head eastbound on I-4 and get off at exit 7 (US 92 East) about a mile.
They have the best pizza in the Tampa area. Quality ingredients. Awesome sauce and the crust is excellent. You can’t go wrong. Choose anything on the menu, it’s all delicious. We’ve stopped here several times and have yet to be disappointed.
What’s more… servings are large and the prices are more than fair and each meal comes with a salad and garlic bread. I recommend it!
