Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing overnight closures along I-4 between the Kirkman Road (Exit 75) and S.R. 528 (Exit 72) interchanges from Tuesday, July 8, through Thursday, July 10.

The closures will begin as early as 10:00 p.m. each night and are expected to reopen by 6:00 a.m. the following morning, with the last closure opening on the morning of Friday, July 11.

On the nights of Tuesday, July 8, and Wednesday, July 9, motorists can expect the following overnight closures:

  • All westbound lanes and ramps of I-4 from Kirkman Road to west of S.R. 528, except for the westbound I-4 exit ramp to Kirkman Road and the westbound I-4 entrance ramp from westbound S.R. 528.

On the night of Thursday, July 10, motorists can expect the following overnight closures:

  • All lanes of eastbound I-4 under the westbound I-4 exit ramp to S.R. 528 and the westbound I-4 exit ramp to S.R. 528.

See detour information below.

NOTE: If crews complete the westbound I-4 work on the night of Tuesday, July 8, only the eastbound I-4 closures will take place on the night of Wednesday, July 9.

The closures are necessary for bridge work. The operation at the I-4 and S.R. 528 interchange is a critical step in the project to widen the I-4 westbound exit ramp to eastbound S.R. 528 from one to two lanes, improving capacity and traffic flow at this busy interchange.

To return to westbound I-4, motorists should take the ramp to westbound S.R. 528 and proceed to the westbound I-4 entrance ramp.
