Motorists are advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing nightly closures of the westbound I-4 exit ramp to eastbound State Road (S.R.) 528 (Beachline Expressway) at Exit 72 on the nights of Wednesday, October 8, and Thursday, October 9.

The closures will begin as early as 10:00 p.m. each night and are expected to reopen by 6:00 a.m. the following morning, with the last closure opening on the morning of Friday, October 10. This closure is necessary to perform bridge work.

I-4 Detour Information

Motorists traveling west on I-4 who wish to access S.R. 528 will be directed to exit early at Exit 75B and head south on Kirkman Road (S.R. 435) to Sand Lake Road (S.R. 482), staying in the left lane and turning left onto eastbound Sand Lake Road. From there, motorists will continue east, then turn right onto southbound John Young Parkway (S.R. 423), and proceed to S.R. 528.

FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

This work is part of the project to widen the westbound I-4 exit ramp to eastbound S.R. 528. These improvements will improve capacity and traffic flow at this busy interchange.
