Construction of I-Drive 360 and the Orlando Eye is moving right along and every day brings major changes to the International Drive skyline.

On Wednesday another major piece of the eye arrived on the construction site… the passenger capsules.

The 400′ tall Orlando Eye will have 30 capsules, and each with the capacity to carry 15 people. That means the Eye will have the capacity of carrying 450 passengers at one time. The Orlando Eye will continuously turn as it loads and unloads passengers. Each capsule will be air-conditioned and include audio effects for riders’ 20-minute journey. Passengers will get a 360-degree view of the Orlando area. The capsules were assembled in Hungary and shipped from Germany.

Admission for the attraction has not been announced.

Orlando Eye will be the crown jewel of I-Drive 360, a shopping and dining destination that will also include Madame Tussauds wax museum and the Sea Life aquarium as well as several other attractions yet to be announced.

I-Drive 360 and the Orlando Eye is scheduled to open in the spring of 2015.
