Port Canaveral officials recently took a giant step forward with their approval of a development team for their $50 million entertainment project.

“The Cove” will be a 53 acre entertainment area district that will include new retailers, restaurants, a four-star boutique hotel and still-to-be-determined entertainment venues, with a portside village theme. The idea is to create a regional destination aimed at drawing local tourists and cruise passengers and area residents.

The project is expected to be completed by summer 2016.
