The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will implement an overnight closure of the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp at Sand Lake Road (State Road 482) on Sunday, July 26. The closure is scheduled to begin as early as 10:00 p.m. and reopen by 6:00 a.m. on the morning of Monday, July 27.
This closure is necessary to install barrier wall on eastbound I-4 near Universal Boulevard.
NOTE: If this work is not completed on the night of Sunday, July 26, the night of Monday, July 27 will serve as a backup date for this work.
Detours for Eastbound I-4 Entrance Ramp from Sand Lake Road
- During the ramp closure, motorists west of I-4 on Sand Lake Road can head north on Turkey Lake Road, turn right onto eastbound Hollywood Way, and then turn right onto southbound Universal Boulevard to access eastbound I-4.
- Motorists east of I-4 on Sand Lake Road who wish to access eastbound I-4 should head north on International Drive and turn left onto northbound Universal Boulevard, then proceed to the eastbound I-4 entrance ramp.
FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted detour signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
This work is part of the ongoing improvement project at the I-4 and Sand Lake Road interchange.
