I-4 Lane, Ramp Closures, Delays for Work in Central Florida Thru November 9

I-4 Heavy Traffic | I-4 Exit Guide

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-5 construction and maintenance operations through Thursday, November 9, 2023. All work is weather dependent and subject to change.

Lane/Ramp Closures

  • Kirkman Rd to John Young Parkway
    • There will be intermittent nightly ramp closures on the westbound I-4 from Conroy Rd. These closures are scheduled from November 6 to November 8, between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM. If you’re planning your commute during these hours.
  • Orange Blossom Trail to Colonial Drive
    • Expect intermittent nightly ramp closures on the westbound SR-408 from Lucerne Cir from November 5 to November 7, between 11:00 PM and 5:00 AM.
  • I-4 Beyond North
    • There will be intermittent nightly ramp closures on the eastbound I-4 from C.R. 46A, starting from November 5 to November 10, between 7:30 PM and 6:00 AM.
  • I-4 Beyond South
    • A continuous ramp closure will be in place on the westbound I-4 from WB Central Florida Pkwy starting from November 9, 2023, at 8:00 PM.
  • Intermittent nightly lane closure on westbound I-4 from S.R. 429 to C.R. 532: One right lane will be closed from November 3 to December 3, between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Please be prepared for possible delays during these times.

The safety of all road users is a top priority. Here are some essential guidelines to follow:

  • Adhere to posted speed limits and stay vigilant for road signs and work zone flaggers.
  • Keep your full attention on the road, avoiding distractions such as cellphone use or adjusting the radio while driving.
  • Road work zones are dynamic environments; watch out for workers and their equipment, as well as lane and ramp closures.
  • Maintain a safe distance of at least two car lengths between your vehicle and the one in front of you.
  • Always allow extra travel time to reach your destination safely.
  • Exercise additional caution when driving at night or in rainy weather, and remember to use your headlights.
  • Stay informed about real-time traffic conditions.
  • Obey all traffic laws, including the “Move Over” law.
