The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports motorists should be advised that a traffic shift on westbound Interstate 4 (I-4) from Daryl Carter Parkway to west of State Road (S.R.) 536 (World Center Drive/Epcot Center Drive) is scheduled to begin today, Monday, April 1.
Single- and double-lane closures are scheduled to occur nightly on westbound I-4 from Daryl Carter Parkway to S.R. 536 beginning as early as 11:30 p.m. Monday, April 1, and are expected to reopen by 6:30 a.m. the following morning. These closures will occur nightly through Thursday, April 4, and are necessary to shift traffic to the outside shoulder.
Beginning as early as 11:30 p.m. Monday, April 1, traffic on westbound I-4 will be shifted over one lane to the outside, as the inside shoulder will be closed for road work. The traffic shift is anticipated to be in place until spring 2025 and will provide space for crews to construct the westbound I-4 Express extension.
FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
