Motorists should be advised that the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is implementing nightly closures of the westbound I-4 exit ramp to eastbound State Road (S.R.) 528 (Beachline Expressway) on September 10-12 and 15-20. The closures will begin as early as 10:00 p.m. each night and are expected to reopen by 6:00 a.m.

The closures are necessary for crews to conduct ramp widening work.

The following detour will be in place for motorists on westbound I-4 wishing to head onto eastbound S.R. 528:

Motorists traveling west on I-4 will take Exit 75B to Kirkman Road (State Road (S.R.) 435), travel south, and take the ramp from southbound Kirkman Road up to the light to turn left onto eastbound Sand Lake Road. From Sand Lake Road, they will turn right onto South John Young Parkway and travel south, proceeding to S.R. 528.

FDOT advises motorists to follow all posted signs. Construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

This project will widen the westbound I-4 exit ramp to eastbound S.R. 528 from one lane to two lanes, improving capacity and traffic flow.

The project began in January 2024 and is anticipated to reach completion in 2026.

Please continue to use caution while driving through active construction zones. Remember to always be alert while riding or driving.
