The Florida Department of Transportation reports that motorists traveling on westbound State Road (S.R.) 434 will have a new way of reaching westbound Interstate 4 (I-4).

A new westbound I-4 entrance ramp from westbound S.R. 434 will open as soon as Saturday morning, April 4. The new ramp will allow drivers to enter I-4 without a traffic signal, improving traffic flow on S.R. 434.

Motorists need to be in the right lane as they pass under I-4 to enter the single lane ramp from the right side of S.R. 434. Traffic will loop around to the right, crossing over S.R. 434 on a new bridge before joining westbound I-4 traffic.

To facilitate the ramp opening, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will temporarily close the westbound I-4 entrance ramp from S.R. 434 on April 3 at 8:00 p.m. The entrance ramp will reopen the next morning by 6:00 a.m.

The left turn lanes that begin on the east side of I-4 will close when the new ramp opens.

Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving though the work zone.
