The Florida Department of Transportation alerts I-4 motorists traveling through Volusia County, to please be advised: The Interstate 4 (I-4) eastbound off-ramps onto eastbound State Road (S.R.) 44 (Exit 118A; New Smyrna Beach) and westbound S.R. 44 (Exit 118B; DeLand Historic District) will be closed tonight, August 25, and Sunday, August 28, from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. each night for paving operations on the ramps. This work is part of a larger project to resurface I-4 from west of County Road 4139 to east of State Road 44.

Traffic will be directed by electronic message boards and other signage during the ramp closures, and the following detour will be in place:

Motorists traveling eastbound on I-4 who wish to access S.R. 44 (East New York Avenue) will be directed to exit early at Exit 116 (Deland/Lake Helen Historic District), turn right onto Orange Camp Road, then turn right again onto County Road 4101 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Beltway, which eventually becomes South Kepler Road). Motorists will then continue on County Road 4101 for approximately 3 miles until they reach S.R. 44.

Please note that construction schedules are subject to change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances. Always drive safely and avoid distractions when driving through a work zone.
